Extra Credit: Annotate Iron Man 1

Iron Man was first released in 2008, directed by Jon Favreau, written by Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby and six other credits. Iron Man was the core character of the movie, which was performed by Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Partflow and Terrence Howard are responsible for two other leading characters. It was a blockbuster after it first came out, receiving attention and affection all over the world. In particular, it gained approximately 585 millions for box office, among which 40 percent of it were from 67 different overseas markets, which suggests how influential and popular it was throughout the world. For the review from IMDb, I am impressed by a review titled "It’s the big Robert Downey Jr show" by Joe. Joe introduces how Tony Stark changed his mind about weapons after he was kidnapped by terrorists and he speaks highly of Robert's performance since his vivid actions made the audience believe the growth of a man.

A successful man with wealth and power should own a sense of social responsibility and a sense of justice. In the movie, Tony Stark made a great transformation from an egocentric person to a real humanitarian(Joe). Stark was born in an outstanding family and he enjoyed life and women, paying no attention to others’ lives. However, a bubble burst when he was caught by terrorists and it was at that time that he realized the weapons manufactured in his company were mistakenly utilized by terrorists and caused damage to ordinary people. After escaping and going back to his company, he announced to stop producing weapons in his industry even though they brought about large profits.

Specifically, he thought himself should put social problems prior to his individual wealth, which indicated his sense of responsibility of maintaining social security and stability. In addition, he refused to supply any weapons to the terrorists because they caused damage to the society and it suggested his sense of justice. I think female characters played an increasingly important role in saving the world and the focus on relationships between male and female was weakened.
